2022 Forest School Nursery Week 6

Wednesday 6th April 2022

This week the Nursery children began by helping the Easter Bunny find lots of chocolate that had been dropped whilst passing through our Forest School!

We then spotted more eggs hiding in the trees and around the pond, and practised our subitising skills to say how many we could see!

“There’s four hanging in this tree!  Two and two!” – Isabella

“Over there is one big egg, and a two and a three!  So that’s six!” – Arthur

The children also had a great time creating Easter Egg patterns on some wood cookies, whilst others found hiding places and made nests for some birds using materials lying around on the ground.

Minibeast hunting is a popular activity each week!  This week the children were fascinated in watching a millipede that appeared to be asleep, then woke up and began actively walking around, tickling children’s hands as it moved about!

We had a lovely sing song to finish off our Forest School session.  Although it won’t be the last time we visit, as we want to see how the tadpoles develop and how the leaves continue to grow on the trees!
