Forest School Session 1
The first week of Forest School for Year One saw the class enjoying an extremely cold and muddy afternoon. We began the session by familiarising ourselves with the fire circle and the safety rules. Our learning at Forest School this year will be based on our themed topic – To Infinity and Beyond based upon Neil Armstrong and the space race!
We had a lovely forest session exploring the grounds and identifying any changes from the previous time we were in the area. We enjoyed slipping and sliding in the muddy puddles as well as finding different creatures and minibeasts. It was amazing to see them in their own environments.
We learnt to use secateurs to cut different wood and branches safely. Overall, we had lots of fun and worked well together as a team. We finished the session in true Forest school style with a hot chocolate, biscuit, and song!
