Year 1 have had a fantastic time at forest school this term. The cold weather created a muddy terrain that was perfect for digging, building and exploring. Throughout our time at forest school we linked our activities to our class topic ‘Fire Fire!’. We made wooden medals for firefighters, created little houses out of logs and even got to pop popcorn over the fire! The children have mastered new skills such as the timber hitch knot to help build sturdy dens and using secateurs safely to make little wooden ladders for mini firefighters! The children already can’t wait for forest school next year!
