Forest School Week 2
The children were very excited to continue their forest school explorations today!
They were super sensible when preparing for the session and sang brilliantly as they walked across the field.
We shared the exciting story of ‘Superworm’ by Julia Donaldson to begin our session and the children had fun joining in using some wonderful actions and prosody!
Next it was onto some exciting activities including making a floral caterpillar, hunting for colourful wool worms in the trees and bushes, digging in soil for worms and carrying out some pond dipping which resulted in finding some tadpoles.
The children were very interested in making a wormery for the worms we found and joined in to add layers of sand and soil although they got distracted by a beautiful butterfly that seemed to think Miss Alexander’s hair was its new home!
We have taken the tadpoles back to or class to observe in more detail and hope to see some exciting developments soon.
