Year 4

Welcome from Mr Bishop!

Hello and welcome to Year 4! My name is Mr Bishop and I am the Year 4 class teacher. I have worked at Shobnall Primary & Nursery School for the past three years and I really enjoy teaching Year 4. I’m looking forward to delivering an engaging, creative and fun curriculum to my class. I enjoy playing football and golf, spending time with my family, friends and my two black Labradors!

This year is all about learning times tables and feeling more confident when answering them.

Mrs France, Mr Rowley and Mrs Marston will be working with us this year!

Year 4 Meet the Teacher

Key Information

The school day starts at 8.55am and finishes at 3.30pm. The total time this amounts to in a typical week is 32.5 hours.

Each week, Year 4 children will receive homework which is handed out on Fridays. This will consist of a piece of English or Maths homework, spellings to learn (which will be loaded onto Spelling Shed every week), a times table to learn for a Friday test and also reading. The children are expected to read at least three times every week.  All Year 4 children will take part in the National Multiplication Check in June 2025. Times Tables Rock Stars will help your child to learn their times tables.

PE will be on Wednesdays. Children will need to come to school in their kit on their allocated day. An outdoor kit should consist of plain black or navy jogging bottoms, a plain black or navy sweatshirt and trainers. For health and safety, children who wear earrings should have these removed on PE days.
