This week in Forest school it was Year 1’s first session. Firstly, the children took part in a team building activity where they took it in turns to introduce themselves and tell us their favourite animal. Then we got stuck in exploring the outdoors. The children were challenged to create superhero masks by using natural resources. They were also shown and practiced using secateurs to cut small sticks and branches for them to hold their superhero masks up to their face. The children explored the outdoors by making lots of dens with logs and other branches. The weather was particularly wet but the children enjoyed slipping and sliding in the muddy puddles. Overall the children had lots of fun and worked well together as a team.
