2023 Nursery Forest School Week 3

Week 3

Wednesday 15th March 2023

This week at Forest School, eyes lit up as areas of the ground had formed some wonderful muddy puddles!  Some children paddled a little tentatively and in true Peppa Pig style, others loved jumping in them!

As well as growing in confidence whilst at Forest School and becoming more adventurous with their exploration, the children learnt a new skill of how to use a hammer, demonstrating great resilience and a ‘can do’ attitude.  Selecting their own choice of leaves and flowers, they transferred the dye from the flowers onto a piece a cloth, using their hammer.  This is an old Japanese art technique called ‘Hapa Zome’.  The effects were amazing!

The children also created a bark rubbing and talked about the patterns that were made. ‘It’s all bumpy!’

During our reflection time with hot chocolate and biscuit, the children sang ‘A pizza Hut’, before changing the words and making up our own version…

A hot chocolate, a hot chocolate

A yummy, yummy biscuit and a hot chocolate.
