After reading the story of ‘The Scarecrow’s Wedding’ by Julia Donaldson, the children made their own scarecrows, practising their fine motor skills to join two sticks together. They then dressed them, gave them a face and added some hair using resources found around them. We also made a large class scarecrow to stand by our newly established growing area in our EYFS outdoor learning area. Hopefully it will help to keep the birds away!
This week we also learnt about using the ‘Respect’ position when working around the campfire and toasted some marshmallows to make S’mores. They were delicious!
The children held their own tea party, made a secret den and again explored the natural environment with their friends. What another great Forest School session!
