Year 3 Forest School – Week 1
To kick off Forest School, Year 3 started by recapping all of the rules in order to stay safe. Our learning this week was based on our Australian themed topic, G’Day Mate! The children had the opportunity to explore the forest school area since their last visit, imaging they were in Australia and needed to make dens to shelter from the sun. The children enjoyed linking their experience to our history and art work, by creating their own Aboriginal artwork on stones, using their fingers and natural materials to make lines and dots. One of the most popular activities was using mud to make koala bears from our hand prints! We finished our session with some hot chocolate, a biscuit and a good old sing-song around the fire pit. What a fantastic afternoon – thank you Miss Lord, we can’t wait for our next session.
