28.2. 20 – Forest School Session One
The first week of Forest School for the Year Five’s saw the class enjoying an extremely muddy and wet afternoon. We began the session by familiarising ourselves with the area and the safety rules. Our learning at Forest School will be based on our Victorian themed topic – The Old Curiosity Shop!
We were given the opportunity to explore the Forest School area and notice any changes since our last visit. Our activities were based around the theme of ‘toys’ where we had to create our own doll’s house by foraging for suitable materials to construct a suitable home for our dolls. We also created our own dolls using wooden pegs and had to try and create our own hop scotch game by carving patterns into the wood. We finished off our session with some hot chocolate, a biscuit and a sing song. What an amazingly muddy first session – we cannot wait for next week!
