Forest School Year 5 Week 6

Year Five has had a fantastic time at Forest School this term. The weather has been extreme from sunny days to non-stop rain but the children have embraced their sessions no matter what.

All of the children were in for a treat this week as we toasted marshmallows on the fire. It was delicious and we all enjoyed eating them around the fire circle.

Today’s session allowed for the children to complete activities that they have enjoyed from all of the previous sessions. Some of the children were continuing with their den-building skills by applying all the skills they have learned and using the tension knot to secure their tarpaulin.  They also had a go at making their own musical instrument as well as using the billhook.

Some of the children also had the opportunity to plant some seeds in order to create a wildflower garden, which we hope will encourage more wildlife to create their home at Forest School.

We finished off our final session by reflecting on our wonderful time at Forest school this year and all the amazing things we have made during our Expelliarmus topic. The children already cannot wait for next year!
