Nursery Forest School Week 6
It was extra egg-citing this week at Forest School as the children arrived to find the Easter bunny have been for a visit. They had a wonderful time hunting for their Easter eggs and reading the name tags very carefully.
When all the eggs were safely in Jasper’s (our class bear) care the children sat around the fire circle to explain the rules of Forest School, which they did brilliantly!
The children enjoyed the sunny weather- the best out of all of our sessions- as they collected materials to create a very unique Easter card as well as threading cheerios onto pipe cleaners to make bird feeders. We can’t wait for our next visit to see if they have been all eaten!
The children also took some time to do a little pond dipping, we weren’t lucky enough to see our friend Freddie the newt again but we know he’s in there somewhere. However, during one of the craft activities a butterfly was almost used as part of a collage as it was camouflaged amongst the leaves. The children were all able to take a closer look before it was set free and flew away.
There was lots of exploring with children making dens and hunting for minibeasts as well as exciting games throughout the morning. Hot chocolate was enjoyed around the fire circle and everyone joined in with our delightful songs although Alfie was shocked to be accused of stealing the cookies from the cookie jar!
The children have truly embraced their Forest School sessions and developed in all areas of learning. They will certainly miss their weekly sessions but will return for more Forest School fun during the Summer term
