Nursery Forest School Session 2
This week at Forest School we had an enchanted Alice in Wonderland theme. So, after an energetic game of ‘The Queen of Hearts says’, and listening to the rules for carrying and moving sticks, we began our exploration.
Children listened carefully to instructions then went off to find a range of natural resources to create a ‘Drink Me’ potion. They had to use some good measuring skills and find a stick longer than their hand to stir it with! The children came up with some great ideas of what would happen if we drunk our potions…
‘You would turn into a mouse!’
‘You would grow so tall you would be the same as that tree!’
‘I think you would get smaller!’
We had our own Mad Hatter’s tea party with lots of water play, practising our pouring skills, and cooking up a feast with some tasty leaves, mud and grass!
Other children were experimenting with mud paint and painted some fantastic textured pictures of the White Rabbit.
There was lots of time for our own explorations, hunting for Alice in Wonderland’s missing keys that were hiding around Forest School and creating a mini, wood cookie door, like the one Alice found when she disappeared down the rabbit hole!
Another great session, full of wonderful learning experiences!
