Year 3: Forest School Session – 11.05.21
This week’s session started with a game of pass the pinecone. The children had to stand in a circle with one person standing in the middle. The aim of the game was to pass a pinecone secretly behind their backs without the person in the middle guessing who has it. The children really enjoyed this game, and we hope to play it again at breaks and lunch times.
One of our groups this week were taking part in some creative craft activities all based around our topic of Iron Man. They had a variety of different activities to do. The children created animals using clay and pinecones. It was great to see the children using their imagination and creating wonderful animals from penguins to deer. The children also had a go at making a Celtic pendent out of wooden discs and making these into a necklace. Finally, the children created their own mud paint and painted Celtic designs.
After a lot of rain, the sun finally made an appearance just in time for hot chocolate and biscuits. We ended the session by singing and dancing to ‘A Roo Cha Cha’ which the children loved. It was great to see them enjoying themselves!
