Year 3: Forest School Session – 18.05.21
Year 3 really enjoyed their forests school session this week. The session started with a game of ‘Grumpy Badger’. One person had to keep a straight face while the others fired questions at them. The only response they could give was ‘grumpy badger’. This game was very funny and not many of the children could keep a straight face all the way through! We laughed a lot!
This week was our final week of the activities based around our topic of ‘Iron Man’. One of our groups worked completely independently to create an Iron Age hill fort. We were so impressed by how the group organised themselves into smaller teams and shared out the resources fairly. The children created wattle and daub using mud and straw to help them to create an authentic round house. Then, they used sticks to create a defence around their hill forts. Some of the children made a river using rainwater and mud. They were so creative!
The session was very rainy and so the children were ready to warm up with a hot chocolate and a biscuit. Next week, will be our last forest school session, so the children suggested some activities they would like to do! We discussed these together. After, we sang ‘Boom Chicka’. The children really enjoyed singing this song and loved all the different versions – especially Elvis style!
