A partner academy in the John Taylor MAT

Year 5 Forest School Week 5

For our starter activity we worked in small groups to make 2D shapes with a rope.  We found this a little challenging and had to use our teamwork skills once again.

Today we used the charcoal we made last week to produce our own sketches and rubbings within the Forest School area.  This was a really lovely activity as we enjoyed using our own made materials!

We also lit the char cloth with fire lighters which was tricky to begin with.  Once we got going we were about to produce sparks onto the char cloth.  It was interesting because the char cloth did not burst into flames despite burning and being very hot, it slowly burned away and when we blew on it, it went an orangey, red colour.

We even met a little amphibian friend this week as you can see in the photos!
