The children were very excited to continue their forest school explorations today!
They were super sensible when preparing for the session and sang brilliantly as they walked across the field.
We shared the exciting story of Little Sunflower’ to begin our session and the children had fun joining in using some wonderful actions! After listening to the story, the children then set off in groups to create their own sunflowers using found resources at Forest School. The children are definitely becoming sunflower experts as they were using some great vocabulary to describe the different parts of the sunflower as they searched for resources to create the seed head, petals, stem and leaves.
Continuing with our sunflower theme, the children then took it in turns to plant a sunflower seed. They listened carefully to the instructions and listed all the ways of how to look after it. The children are all very excited about their sunflowers and have predicted that they will grow into tall, giant sunflowers! We can’t wait to watch and see them grow!
We finished the session with a hot chocolate, biscuit, and song! Well done Nursery on a great forest school experience!
