Session Three – 5.5.21
We learnt how to use our first tool this week – the fire striker. The fire strikers were a little bit tricky to use but we were determined to light our ‘pixie pillows’ and start a fire. This activity took a lot of perseverance but we got there in the end and had a lot of fun!
We also had lots of other activities going on during the session as some of the children had the opportunity to decorate their own pieces of jewellery caps as well as creating their very own messages in Arabic. Some of the children also had the opportunity to practice creating their tension knots to create their very own dens.
What an enjoyable third session at Forest School today, we definitely developed our resilience skills when it came to using the tension knot and using it to create our own useable dens! We ended with a reflection, a biscuit and some hot chocolate.
In order to develop our independence different children each week are creating our hot chocolate, which we all agree was super yummy. We then finished off our session with our hot chocolate, a biscuit and a game. What an amazingly sunny first session – we cannot wait for next week!
