Forest School Year 5 Week 5

Forest School Year 5 19 May 2021

Today’s session was a little bit different to our normal sessions as we spent the majority of the session outside of the Forest School area. One of the skills that the children must develop while at Forest School is to improve the habitats of the wildlife by making different areas for minibeasts.

Therefore, in order to achieve this, we need to leave the school grounds. So we went for a walk around our local area to forage and collect materials that we could bring back to school and use to create new habitats. The children thoroughly enjoyed being able to explore our local environment and thoughtfully collected materials. Once back at Forest School, the children broke off into groups and constructed their own minibeasts hotels.
