This week at Forest School we were all filled with a mix of emotions. Happy and excited to be back in the woodland and a little sad as it was our last visit; so we made sure it was as action packed as ever!
Explorer Ted got us thinking about all the different activities we had completed during our Forest School experience and suggested we make a ‘journey stick’ so that it would help us to remember some of the things we had done. It was quite tricky trying to tie on stones and pine cones but with a little help we did it!
Over the past six weeks we have grown in confidence in the woodland and have learned how to keep others and ourselves safe as we work and play. Mr. Marshment played a ‘trust’ game with us, where we were blindfolded and had to follow a rope around the woodland. We all placed a hand on a friend’s shoulder so that we could help each other along. Although at times it was a little scary, we had lots of fun and were always there to support each other.
Before we joined our friends back at base camp it was lovely to explore the woodland for one last time and take a look at all the things we had made, explored or hidden in.
Over our cup of hot chocolate we all talked about our favourite time at Forest School and Mrs. Farrington awarded us all with a special Forest School certificate. Our session ended by singing a favourite Forest School action song before we made our way back home, having created our first Forest School memories.
