Year 4
Welcome from Miss Lord!
Hi, my name is Miss Lord and I am the Year 4 teacher. I love teaching an engaging and creative curriculum at Shobnall Primary & Nursery School and providing all pupils with a range of fun learning experiences, from theme days to school trips! Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family.
This is my seventh year at Shobnall Primary and Nursery School! Whilst I have been here, I have been a teaching
assistant in all classes, worked at breakfast club, a forest school leader and taught my first three years as a teacher in Year 6. As well as being the Year 4 class teacher, this year, I also lead on two subjects: writing and computing.

Key Information
The school day starts at 8.55am and finishes at 3.30pm. The total time this amounts to in a typical week is 32.5 hours.
Each week, Year 4 children will receive homework which is handed out on Fridays. This will consist of a piece of English or Maths homework, spellings to learn (which will be loaded onto Spelling Shed every week), a times table to learn for a Friday test and also reading. The children are expected to read at least three times every week. All Year 4 children will take part in the National Multiplication Check in June 2025. Times Tables Rock Stars will help your child to learn their times tables.
PE will be on Wednesdays. Children will need to come to school in their kit on their allocated day. An outdoor kit should consist of plain black or navy jogging bottoms, a plain black or navy sweatshirt and trainers. For health and safety, children cannot wear earrings at all.
