16.5.19 –Forest School Session Six
We started off our penultimate Forest School with our very own Harry Potter yoga session. It was thoroughly enjoyed by both the children and staff.
During today’s session we continued to hone our skills of using the bill hook and have all successful earned our tool certificate. Once, we had chopped all the logs we used different coloured paints to decorate and create our very own versions of Hagrid’s house.
The children were also able to create their very own Hedwig’s using pine cones and cotton wool. As well as making our own mud bricks that will be used during our final session.
We also spent time exploring the Forest School area and seeing the affect spring has had on the environment especially, with regards to the wildlife and foliage. Some of the children were even lucky enough to make friends with a very friendly butterfly, who kept landing on people’s hats.
One of the most popular activities that the children were able to take part in was pond dipping. We all really enjoyed being able to find a plethora of wildlife, for example, pond skaters, may fly larvae, water bugs and much more.
A great sunny and wonderful session yet again!
