Reception

Welcome from Miss Alexander!

Hi! I am Miss Alexander and I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of the EYFS team as the Reception Class Teacher at Shobnall Primary & Nursery School. I thoroughly enjoy being part of the children’s journeys as they gain knowledge and develop skills to become successful learners. I am passionate about providing fun and creative experiences and enjoy thinking of numerous ways to make the children’s learning memorable and exciting.

Support staff that work alongside me in the Reception class are Mrs Martin, Ms Stanesby, Miss Robina, Mrs Morson and Mr Attwood.

The children have PE sessions on Thursdays with our specialist PE teacher Mr Attwood. Children will need to come to school in their kit on their allocated day. An outdoor kit should consist of plain black or navy jogging bottoms, a plain black or navy sweatshirt and trainers. For health and safety, children who wear earrings should have these removed on PE days.

Please ensure all children’s clothing, footwear, bags and water bottles are clearly named.

Parent Voice

A recent testimonial (July 2023) from a happy parent stated, “What a fantastic Nursery Class at Shobnall Primary & Nursery School! Both my girls have attended the nursery, giving them the best possible start to their education. The staff are warm and friendly, they are highly experienced and passionate about providing a fun education, and safe environment. The children to a lot of varied activities, indoors and outdoors in all weathers. All the staff knew both my girls extremely well and are always helping them to achieve their next steps. I feel valued as a parent. All the staff are approachable and where possible will go out of their way to accommodate your needs. I would highly recommend the Nursery to any prospective parent.”
